You can leave the entire setup to us. We have tables and display items ready to go. If the Executor Lives Out of State, Can We Still Have an Estate Sale?

We request that you remove any personal paperwork and effects from the home. This includes birth certificates, social security cards, driver’s licenses, passports, military documents, bank statements, pay stubs, medical bills, family photos, prescription drugs, and the like.

What Should I Expect at Our First Meeting?

The in-home consultation gives us the opportunity to meet, gain an understanding of your needs, and assess the overall value of the contents of the estate. We will then determine whether or not an estate sale is in your best interest.

Is There a Charge for the Initial Consultation?

We had some quirky items, like a taxidermized cat, that we intended to throw away, but Laura said, “No!”, because she had a buyer that would love it. Sure enough, the cat sold on the first day.

    Laura had silver and gold dealers, stamp dealers and antique jewelry appraisers. If she wasn’t familiar with an item, she researched it. Blue Moon looked everywhere in the house, finding items we didn’t even know were there. Everything was assigned a fair price and staged well. Her helpers brought in to price the items and manage the sale were cheerful and knowledgeable. We had a very successful 3 days. We were delighted our beautiful piano was bought by a young neighborhood family and happy someone could use the fishing gear and sports equipment in the garage.

    The items that didn’t sell were cleared out quickly and donated to charity groups for their use (like beds, sofas and appliances) or for them to try to sell (like plates, glasses, knives, flatware, tablecloths, towels, blankets, sheets) to fund their groups. Our check and an itemized list of goods sold came promptly as Laura promised.
